David Aste (1993) is a Mexican-born artist currently living in Vancouver. His work is inspired by pop culture concepts, street art and graffiti. Starting at age 16, Aste dived into different mediums from acrylic, graffiti, stencil, and most recently digital art.

He creates artwork that is characterized by satirically combining pop culture with real life places and situations. His work sparks a dialogue but also sometimes controversy among different audiences, most notably within the Reddit crowds which he describes as “Testing grounds”.

His latest work "Not So Far Away" is a 10 piece collection that attempts to showcase the answer to the question: What if instead of some distant galaxy it was Vancouver in the center of the action?...  The idea first born from doing a single Reddit post (The arrival) using Google Earth to get everything at scale and showing a realistic view.
